Niamh Sullivan

Registered Counsellor

Hi I’m Niamh (she/her)

As a counsellor specialising in individual, sex, and relationship therapy, I believe that the quality of our connection with ourselves and others is integral to our daily well-being and life satisfaction.

I use an integrative approach, tailoring therapeutic interventions to the unique needs of my clients. However, I primarily draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy frameworks, as well as Gottman and Emotion-Focused Therapies in relational work.

With a deep understanding of the complexities of human connection, I offer the following counselling services:

Relationship counselling

Our attachment to others plays a significant role in helping us feel connected, secure and safe. When our bonds with those we love are strained or threatened, it can be distressing and disorienting. It’s common to feel stuck in relationship issues, whether minor or major. An empathetic third party can often help untangle and clarify feelings of dissatisfaction. My role as a relationship therapist is to help my clients find security and satisfaction with their significant others. My approach focuses on meeting you where you are at and creating a safe and trusting working relationship. I prioritise a collaborative and respectful approach that honours your lived experiences.

Individual counselling

By cultivating a kind and loving relationship with ourselves, we gain the power to make decisions that enrich our lives. In individual counselling, I help clients reconnect with their authentic selves as they face life’s challenges in areas such as:

  • Relationship and attachment distress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Sexual functioning and flourishing
  • Pleasure
  • Grief and loss
  • Bereavement
  • Eating and body issues
  • Parenting challenges
  • Trauma
  • Existential distress and meaning-making

I am passionate about working with individuals navigating diverse relational and personal experiences, including those within the LGBT+ community, polyamory, and kink communities. My practice is trauma-informed and I endeavour to create safety for those with neurodiverse experiences.
